Description
I found this old truck around Tomsich Butte in south-central Utah. One of the exposed rock formations in this area contains uranium deposits that were heavily mined during the uranium boom of the 1950’s. The cars and trucks that were left where they last ran are now bullet riddled reminders of another time in our country’s development. This is printed on 11″ x 14″ gelatin-silver paper matted to 16″ x 20″ and the color of the truck is from oil painting on the photographic print. I love this process because of the way the black and white photograph become a backdrop for the pop of color.
