Wild Golden Zinnia

Description

This flower arrangement is of a zinnia, and other flowers and wild grasses from my garden surrounded by wild sunflowers. I am fascinated by the small details, the inner workings, the small shapes nature creates in flowers, the insects that make a living in the natural world. This negative was printed on 20 x 24 inch paper and then I selectively oil painted the flowers. I love the way this process uses the black and white photograph as a backdrop for the pops of color. Matted for a 26″ x 30″ frame.
